MCCI Round Table: How to Help Couples in Crisis
You don't have to be in marriage ministry to help a marriage in crisis! A simple, first step to helping marriages in crisis, is knowledge of tools and resources that are available. Couples are much more likely to move away from divorce when resources for help and hope are offered to them. During this roundtable, we will learn about marriage intensives as a valuable tool to help marriages in crisis. We will introduce, The Clearing, a non-profit with an incredible heart for helping couples restore health and vibrancy in their marriages. They are working hard to combat family disintegration with a marriage intensive model designed to move couples past barriers into marriage as God intends. Their website quotes, "As marriage goes, so goes the nation”, and we could not agree more. We are so thankful for their impactful work in this arena! We have the special opportunity to meet the Clearing's Program Director, Deborah Kristen. She will share about her work and the dynamics of marriage intensives to help couples in crisis. Deborah interacts frequently with potential participants as they explore coming to a Marriage Intensive. She is responsible for the intake of participants, scheduling, and orchestrating the events for each retreat. She brings to the task a heart for counseling as well as a Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling from the Luther Rice University and Seminary. Come ready to be a part of the discussion, ask questions and learn about the incredible work The Clearing is doing to help marriages through intensives!
